The Department of Ophthalmology of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine/Dean McGee Eye Institute is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants much possess a doctoral degree (Ph.D., MD or equivalent) with postdoctoral experience. Applicants will have active extramural (NIH or equivalent) funding and a strong publication record. Preference will be given to applicants who have basic or transitional research programs in macular/retinal degeneration, diabetes, glaucoma or some combination thereof to complement and broaden the ongoing group research interest including retinal degeneration, photoreceptor cell signaling, and glaucoma. The Department of Ophthalmology ranks among the top 20 in the country in NIH funding and 14th in Eye Institute recently doubled space dedicated to fundamental and transitional research with new laboratories that total over 29,000 sq. Ft. An NEI-funded core gran supports state-of-the-art imaging, lipidomics, molecular and cellular analysis, and animal husbandry units. A highly competitive recruitment package, commensurate with academic qualifications is available. Adjunct appointments are available in basic science departments.
