Position Summary: This Education Specialist will be working specifically on developing and implementing the Academy of Educational Excellence and faculty development programming within the Office of Applied Scholarship and Education Science. This will include conducting education needs assessments, developing training objectives and outcome-based assessment measures, delivering education program content and evaluating program effectiveness and revising as needed. This position will also research potential sites and meeting venues that meet the learner needs, correspond with faculty for required program information including deadlines, develops and implements marketing and social media plans for education programs which includes: identifying target audiences; developing and producing electronic and print collateral materials; coordinating program web postings and video development and researching additional marketing opportunities for future education programs.

Responsibilities: The Education Specialist assists faculty and Education Program Leadership. This individual is expected to exercise initiative, exhibit organizational skills, and use problem solving and decision-making skills to perform tasks. The Education Specialist will work in conjunction with faculty to develop educational materials/ courses/programs for the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required with 5 or more years of experience in education, business or health related field is required. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with minimal direction. Proven ability to support development of education and training programs. Demonstrated strong skills in communication, problem solving and decision making. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team supporting students and/or faculty.

Additional Qualifications: Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must develop mastery of the policies and procedures related to education and training programs. Database experience and systems knowledge are required. Proficiency with technology and software to enhance classroom learning and manage program data is required. Must be adaptable and flexible in a changing work environment where constant learning and skill enhancement is needed. Must have excellent writing and editing skills for preparation of professional correspondence, meeting agendas and minutes. Must have the ability to independently compose correspondence including letters, e-mails and announcements that are sensitive, confidential, and diplomatic. Self-motivated and works well with minimal direction, produces consistently high quality work, contributes extra effort needed to complete assigned tasks when circumstances hinder progress, demonstrates scheduling flexibility. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated competence in interpersonal effectiveness, skills in leadership, group dynamics, oral and written communications, ability to present in front of small and large audiences. Ability to think critically and creatively to problem solve, ability to lead, manage and support multiple programs and priorities, expertise in project management and quantitative data analysis. Experience and working knowledge of education technology including computer-based education and e-learning and the ability to effectively coach and mentor others is a plus.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approximately $1,948.00, based on a full-time position.
Hours/Pay Period: Full-time
Schedule Details: Typically Monday-Friday, 8-5. However, must be willing to work outside those parameters including weekends. Some travel may be expected.
