Under the direction of the Director, Global Innovations, the Senior Principal Scientist will be responsible for championing the research and development of new acoustic materials and products for the creation of Innovative new offerings to support the company’s growth objectives. Additionally, the Senior Principal Scientist will be responsible for several business support activities which include market development as well as participation in global codes and standards committees. Key Responsibilities of the Senior Principal Scientist:
    Providing acoustic support for both sourced and internal new product development effortsConnecting new material technologies with business needs to identify high business impact opportunitiesEffectively assessing the ideas both from the business and technical points of viewEffectively creating technical solutions to achieve defined performance requirementsDesigning, planning, and executing the project plan / experiment/process, analyzing the data, recommending corrective solution, and reporting the resultsProactively interacting and collaborating with others in Technology, Manufacturing, production plants, and the business, as necessary to complete the R&D responsibilitiesDeveloping intellectual property for key innovationsParticipating in pertinent technical conferences, identifying opportunities, and sharing key learnings with the global organization as determined by business needs
    Interacting with key customer groups to understand market drivers and influence their decisionsPartnering with marketing on white papers, presentations and articles highlighting the importance of acousticsParticipating in Evidence Based Design (EBD) acoustical case studiesParticipating in Global EASE  (Enhanced Acoustic Simulator for Engineers) modeling capabilities, developing new tools and applicationsManaging expansion and maintenance of  existing Global acoustics software tools such as RT modelingProviding acoustic technical services to Global  marketing & sales such as product literature and training programsParticipating in the development of Global national and international standards (and codes) on building acousticsIdentifying and lobbying key government and NGO decision makers in building design & constructionIdentifying and supporting Global university research on building acoustics and human performanceEducating architects, interior design professionals, government & academic groups, technical societies and associations
 Required Qualifications for the Senior Principal Scientist:
    Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Engineering, Physics, Architecture Music or other related technical fieldMaster’s degree in one of the following: Acoustics, Materials Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical field 4+ years of experience in a senior role in at least one of the following areas:  acoustical consulting for the building industry, teaching, or researching at the university level.Written and verbal fluency in EnglishExperience in predictive analysis and modeling
 Desired Qualifications for the Senior Principal Scientist:
    Ph.D. in an acoustics related fieldEducational and/or professional experience within the USA or EuropeRegular participation and experience in Codes & Standards Committees of industry organizations such as ASTM, ISO, ASHRAE etc.
