Role Summary/Purpose: Responsible for helping lead the delivery of UX research, you will work to conduct primary research, exploring user behaviors and motivations, and working with teams of Product Strategists, Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and customers to develop Oil & Gas digital applications. These applications feature in-depth data visualization, complex physics models, and geographic information systems (GIS) that enable customers to visualize, question, analyze, and interpret data
Essential Responsibilities: We need someone that thoroughly enjoys working with customers, engineering, design and development teams, educating them on the advantages of incorporating well executed research findings. You’ll inspire change at all stages of product development by delivering exciting oral, written and visual presentations and most importantly, your job as a researcher is to study users and customer organizations to help the UX, product management, and development team members understand what will make an intuitive, accessible, informative—and actionable product.In this role, you will:
Organize and lead kick-off discovery meetings
Be responsible for designing, conducting, analyzing, and presenting user research, in a fast-paced software development environment, from early strategic direction through post-release validation
Employ a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods including contextual inquiry, participatory design, and formative and summative usability studies
Lead all phases of research studies including preparation, scheduling and test script development
Lead research projects with cross-functional stakeholders including designers and engineers, ensuring that all stakeholders are thoroughly briefed on insights
Work closely with engineering and business analysts to work through both business and user requirements, then translating final requirements to the design
Work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects with multi-disciplinary teams
Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Interaction, Graphic, or Industrial Design preferred or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)
A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in User Experience Research.Eligibility Requirements:

Must be willing to travel 20%
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Houston, TX or could be based anywhere remote in US.
