Role Summary/Purpose: GE offers a one year fellowship to a recent law school graduate. This Bracket Denniston Diversity Fellowship will provide opportunities for new attorneys to gain in-house experience in Labor and Employment and Global Investigations matters across GE. This year-long fellowship is a full time role within GE Corporate, working out of our offices in Norwalk. Students who are members of groups traditionally underrepresented at large law firms are encouraged to apply.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Fellow will work with GE Labor and Employment attorneys to:
    Conduct research in on global labor and employment issues related to labor and employment lawDraft memoranda and provide analysis related to L&E legal matters, partnering with human resources and other departments.Assist on employment related litigation and/or arbitration, including working with counsel on discovery, preparing and interviewing witnesses and attending hearings, when feasible.Assist with employment-related ombuds matters and investigationsAssist with employment-related compliance and regulatory legal issues concerning federal, state and local labor and employment laws.Work on human rights initiatives, including compliance with new Executive Order
The Fellow will work with GE Global Investigations attorneys to:
    Conduct factual and legal research, prepare syntheses and assist with presentationsHelp conduct investigations of potential compliance policy violationsKeep abreast of relevant government enforcement news and provide advisory support to the investigations teamHelp drive measurable efficiencies in investigative matter managementAssist with training initiativesHelp provide cross-business support, as needed, with regard to significant global investigationsDevelop data analytics toolsSpearhead special projects
    Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (JD is required by the start date) The lawyer will sit for a Bar exam prior to joining GE
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

The program is open to current 3rd year law students. Applicants must be in good academic standing, be on track to graduate in the spring of 2017, and expected to take the summer 2017 bar exam.
