Role Summary/Purpose: Operations research position working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team to develop optimization solutions for the commercial airline and aviation industry. The position requires innovative, creative and resourceful individuals to collaborate on the conception, design, implementation and maintenance of optimization algorithms.
Essential Responsibilities: Provide leadership within multi-disciplinary team of professionals to solve difficult industrial problems
Interface with stakeholders to identify relevant industry problems
Analyze industry problems
Evaluate available data and existing methodologies
Propose efficient solution methodologies
Participate in implementation, test and evaluation of solution methodologies
Support and lead in the ongoing evolution and maintenance of solution methodologies
Qualifications/Requirements: M.S. (Ph.D. preferred) in a quantitative field such as Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or related Engineering degree
5+ years building models and developing algorithms for mathematical programming
5+ years researching and building optimization-based solutions
2+ years object-oriented programming (C++ preferred)
2+ years utilizing commercial optimization solvers (e.g. CPLEX, DASH, Gurobi) and software profiling & memory management tools)
Experience in multi-process, multi-threaded optimization implementations

Desired Characteristics: Applicant should have demonstrable expertise in data modeling and analysis, large-scale linear and integer programming, meta-heuristic solution design, mathematical optimization modeling and developing efficient optimization algorithms.
