The Radio research area of Ericsson Research is shaping the future of mobile communication. This research area consists of teams in several sites worldwide, including our team in Santa Clara. Our team’s current focus is on 5G, LTE evolution, IoT connectivity, spectrum sharing, and unlicensed mobile operation. We are very engaged in the 3GPP standards, including performing technical studies, developing contributions and attending standards meetings. Our projects span multiple sites and countries, and we emphasize a highly collaborative culture. Our team has an outstanding record in patents, standards contributions, publications and technology transfer. Four of our current team members have won the prestigious Ericsson inventor of the year award. Our main internal stakeholders are product management, product development, the standards unit and the patent unit. Externally, we are engaged in interactions with universities and government agencies. We are also scanning for new technology trends coming out of Silicon Valley and elsewhere.Our ideal candidate is a highly skilled early career researcher in the area of wireless communication, with a strong foundation in communication systems, information theory, signal processing and related topics. We value a self-motivated person, a flexible team player, a good communicator, and also someone with the intellectual curiosity to tackle new problems and a desire for continuous learning. Job description:We are now looking for a Researcher to build and transfer technology competence to ensure technology leadership and profitable business for Ericsson by:
    Contributing to Ericsson technology strategy Developing novel concepts, solutions and algorithms  Driving standardizationContributing to our intellectual property portfolioIntroducing the solutions into product development Presenting concepts, prototypes and publications.
    Perform, document and communicate research studies, measurements or computer simulations. Create new technical solutions and protect them with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)Represent Ericsson in external fora such as standardization, university collaborations, technical conferences and customer meetings Supervise and coach other researchersDevelop Research strategiesDevelop evaluation tools, demonstrators or test beds
  Key Qualifications:
    Education: PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or closely related field strongly preferred. Focus on wireless communication topics desired.Practical experience in wireless communication and related fields is desired but not required. Strong analytical skills and ability to acquire new knowledge and apply it in the job  Strong communication skills in written and spoken English Ability to formulate problems and solve them independently  Creativity and ability to work independently and in teamsDesire to engage in a highly collaborative cultureAbility to adopt, develop and drive new ways of working
