The Charlotte Mecklenburg Hospital Authority d/b/a Carolinas Healthcare System. Charlotte, NC. Perform testing in histocompatibility and flow cytometry. Perform testing on luminex and use flow cytometry instruments. Under minimal supervision, perform and participate in the implementation of routine, complex, and special laboratory procedures. Recognize unusual results and difficulties while performing or implementing procedures and make required corrections and/or decisions. Relate procedural difficulties and required corrections to the supervisory staff. Teach others the proper performance of routine and special procedures. Responsible for quality, efficiency, and safety in the performance of technical functions and for the proper handling of specimens, supplies, and equipment. Perform procedures in the assigned laboratory section. Work M-F 7:30am – 4:00pm and on call as needed.  Requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Bioscience Technology or Medical Technology, or equivalent. Requires at least one (1) year of Medical Technology or HLA Technologist experience in: histocompatibility testing; using flow cytometry instrument; and performing Quality Control and instrument maintenance; and six (6) months communicating with physicians and surgeons.
