Department: Mayo Clinic Health Solutions Customer Service

Responsibilities: The Mayo Clinic Health Solutions Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for delivering high quality and quantity customer service for all lines of business, regional and national, in regard to medical, dental, and pharmacy benefits, as well as dental, vision; medical and dependent care flexible spending accounts, Health Reimbursement Accounts and Health Savings Accounts. In addition, the position must interpret plan documents and language to accurately and effectively communicate benefit and claim information to members and providers along with educating and guiding members of health plan choices. The position responds to a variety of account and payment issues involving reconciling balance due reasons for members and providers. The representative must have the ability to make independent decisions that require individual and or team analysis, reasoning and problem solving to meet the needs of our clients and customers. In addition, the expectation of the CSR is to respond to 80 - 100 calls per day while maintaining quality standards, and to resolve 95 percent of all issues during the initial phone call. The position is required to use multiple computer applications including windows based software. The representative will utilize ICD-9 and CPT coding, medical terminology, G3/G4 phone systems, and must comply with production standards. Must be flexible with time and willing to back up team mates in order to provide sufficient coverage.

Qualifications: Position requires two years post-secondary education with two years experience in Customer Service or Health Insurance, or a minimum of four years experience in a call center. In addition, the job requires the following skills: Excellent human relations skills to interact with customers; excellent analytical and problem solving skills; ability to cope with varied levels of workload and multiple tasks; understanding and acceptance of the team concept; excellent organizational and listening skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. Must be able to work in a fast paced, stressful, changing environment while making independent decisions.

Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $17.68 per hour.
Hours/Pay Period: 80
Schedule Details: Variable shifts between the hours of 7:00 a.m - 7:00 p.m.
