The Department of Ophthalmology of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine/Dean McGee Eye Institute is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level. Applicants must possess a doctoral degree (PhD, MD or equivalent) with postdoctoral experience. Applicants will have active extramural (NIH or equivalent) funding and a strong publication record. Preference will be given to applicants who have basic or transitional research programs in macular/retinal degeneration, inflammation, immunology, infectious diseases, diabetes, glaucoma or some combination thereof to complement and broaden ongoing group research interests including infectious eye disease, immunology, retinal degeneration, photoreceptor cell signaling, angiogenesis, wound healing and glaucoma. In 2015, the Department of Ophthalmology ranked among the top 20 in the country in NIH funding and 14th in cumulative funding from Research to Prevent Blindness. The Department, housed in the Dean McGee Eye Institute, recently doubled space dedicated to fundamental and transitional research with new laboratories that total over 29,000 sq. ft. An NEI-funded core grant supports state-of-the-art imaging, lipidomics, molecular and cellular analyses, and animal husbandry units. A highly competitive recruitment package, commensurate with academic qualifications is available. Adjunct appointments are available in basic science departments.
