Description

Post-doctoral Research Fellow –

Biomaterials and Drug Delivery:

Karp Lab, Boston, MA, USA

The Karp Lab at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Harvard Stem Cell Institute, and the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology aims to rapidly advance next generation biomaterials and drug delivery strategies through multidisciplinary approaches. A major focus of our research group is to develop technologies that can be rapidly translated to the clinic to improve the quality of life of suffering patients. For more information, visit: http://www.karplab.net/.

The post-doctoral research fellow will develop next-generation micro-structured drug delivery and diagnostic devices for multiple therapeutic applications, through a highly multidisciplinary approach. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for micro-fabrication, formulating drug delivery/diagnostic systems from them, and for their in vitro and in vivo evaluation. Experiences in polymers, assay development and/or micro-fabrication are a must and experiences in drug delivery, HPLC, basic biological techniques (e.g., ELISA), and formulating animal trials are plus. The candidate should have strong organizational and communication skills for assisting and collaborating with multidisciplinary groups of technology innovators and engineers, as well as biologists and clinicians, in a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications: PhD. in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related degree. Ideally should have ample experience in micro-fabrication, drug delivery, micro-sensors, polymers or related experience.

The Karp Lab is a dynamic and fast paced environment that thrives on collaboration and ingenuity. We have a diverse, international talent pool, simultaneously working on multiple projects across several disease areas. We are focused on the development of platform technologies supporting a broad range of potential applications in medicine and bioengineering. Our emphasis on translational research enables us to train the next generation of bioengineers and expand the boundaries of this exciting field. With that in mind, the Karp Lab looks for members with highly developed interpersonal skills who could contribute to our dynamic lab community.

Interested candidates should email: ylee21@partners.org and include their updated CV with a list of publications.
